Cheat menu suggestions

Okay let's be honest here: the cheats menu isn't all that great. Cheat description scrolling is slow, cheat names won't scroll at all (so you can't see part of the instructions/buttons for quite a lot of cheats) and scrolling both in the cheats menu and the cheat description is slow and rough. Here are my suggestions to make it better:

- Increase cheat description scrolling speed
- Cheat name scrolling
- Holding down the D-pad to scroll quickly (like in the file list)
- Smooth scrolling instead of the letter-by-letter scrolling (not really necessary imo, but would be nice)

(I know that second one is already in the sticky, but I added three more suggestions.)

Cheat notes scroll

Cheat names scroll

We don't know why holding down has a 4 second delay in scrolling up/down, though.

It has to be letter by letter since it parses everything by the character.

As far as the scrolling speed, that one we can do and I've already done it so that'll be in the next update.

Eventually that can be customized, but that's down the line.

4-second delay? That's pretty long. It's quicker to just keep pressing left/right.
EDIT: more like ~2 seconds actually

Cheat names don't scroll for me and never have. Is there a delay for that too?

Even if it parses letter by letter, the new letters could be made to appear invisible/off the screen and then smoothly move to the left. A fixed width font could also be used but that would probably look lame. The description scrolling looks a lot smoother with scrolling speed set to fast though, so it's probably unnecessary. :D

Is there a way to set the 'X' button to call out the cheat menu like in the offical acekard firmware? I find it a lot faster than going through the start menu or Rom Info screen.

Cheat names have never scrolled for me either, from 1.5 through 1.8.1.

It'd be cool if you could alt tab into an OSD menu like with CycloDS and turn cheats off or on or change things like brightness while in game.

It's not "really" alt tabbing, but it's close enough.
