Old suggestions which appear valid, useful, or have many user comments interested in them will be collected here instead of being deleted during board clean-ups.

Cheats "SAVE" button?
by YourMother » Tue Jul 28, 2009 10:34 pm

many people get confused by the fact that you must hit "select" to save your cheats selection. there is room in the gui for a "save and exit" type of button. this would be a nice feature to add in addition to the "select" button. i say in addition because it is nice to have both a d-pad/button way to navigate and a touch-screen only navigation.

Delete CC file with Rom
by Gamer4life » Mon Aug 10, 2009 5:22 pm

This addition would be a cool option to have for when you delete a game the games CC file gets deleted with it so it doesn't sit on your card and use up space although its most of the time very little space having it be deleted with the game you choose would be a good addition in my mind.

HIDE file attritribute
by YourMother » Sun Aug 23, 2009 10:17 pm

if it is to much to add the ability to set a file's attritribute to hidden, then perhaps this idea would work. add a button to the properties box of a directory/file which adds the directory name/file name to the "hiddenFileNames =" line of the globalsettings.ini. i'm assuming then that the file would be hidden when you leave a directory and go back? or perhaps a refresh of the directory after the name is added to the line?

Two Suggestions
by NinjaFish » Sat Oct 17, 2009 8:38 pm

1) Highlight the last-played item on startup. This tends to be more valuable as you get more and more items on a larger SD card.
2) Alternate cheat file selection per ROM: being able to select a cheat file is great. Being able to specify one on a per-ROM basis (for games that are lacking entries in the larger DB, or for hacking your own codes) would be even better.

side scroll
by DarkCrudus » Sun Oct 25, 2009 12:33 am

So some names or sentences in AKAIO get cut off where you can't read the entire phrase some ds games that are long in title but also referring to cheat databases So it would be nice that when the phrase is highlighted that it would scroll to the end then back to the front, similar to what an mp3 player would do with long song names

Change/add urls cheat updater (Wifi updater)
by rctgamer3 » Tue Oct 27, 2009 6:07 pm

Ability to change/add url(s) for the Cheat Updater. I'm the Admin of a site no-one has ever heard of, and that isn't in the serach engine (yet), that hosts ARDS codes, trying to top GBAtemp's. It would be great if I could use my AK2i to download the USRCHEAT.DAT without having to connect it to my PC.

Save Restore Feature
by Jakob » Fri Oct 16, 2009 5:30 pm

Alright this is kind of what M3 Sakura has. It could Restore previous save data from the save backup file. So pretend you play a Game like Pokemon and you release your Pickachu by accedent then save. You could go into that Save restore menu and restore you save the one you had yesterday.

Suggestion List (updated: 8/11/09)
by evandixon » Thu Jul 16, 2009 12:00 pm

1) Multiple shortcuts for Root.
2) Customizable GBA Icon for Slot 2 (if "POKEMON SAPP" is inserted, "POKEMON-SAPP.BMP" is displayed)
3) Auto-Refresh File List when "Set file list type" is updated
4) Option to dis-able DS Icon "pulsing"
5) Make Pressing Left or Right on the Menu be the equivilant of Pressing "More->", or "<-Back"
6) Option to choose which DLDI file to patch homebrew with (Example: DSVideo requires a special DLDI

patch that patches ARM7. Perhaps there could be a "Homebrew Settings Menu" per homebrew, as there is

[GBA/3in1 suggestions]
1) Multiple Save Slots for GBA games (as NDS games do).
2) This will probebly be added without me suggesting it, but support for GBA_Game.sav instead of

GBA_Game.gba.sav or GBA_Game.gba.nds.sav would be nice.

[File Managment Features (Complements to Copy, Cut, Paste, and Delete)]
1) Create Directory
2) Rename

[Misc Suggestions]
1) Skin Downloads over Wifi
2) Display Small Icon (As Moonshell 2 does in one-line mode) view setting

Game icon in list view
by 0x029A » Sun Jan 31, 2010 5:29 pm

It would be nice to have the game icons visible in list view. I assume that's not too hard to implement, as the icons are already "pulsating" in the two other, larger views.

To clarify: Image

Random and/or Cycle Themes Option
by Raskull » Thu Sep 24, 2009 6:16 pm

Would it be possible to add options to display random themes or cycle through them? It could be part of the same theme selection dialog box. You could put Cycle and Random as the first "themes" in the listbox.

A few suggestions...
by macgeek417 » Sun Feb 28, 2010 7:25 pm

Display filename instead of "DS Program File" On my AceKard 2i, I have it set to display the Internal Name instead of the filename, however when there is no internal name it displays "DS Program File" instead. It would be nice if there was a "Internal Name When Available" setting that would display the filename when the additional data is not available.

Multiple shortcuts main menu screen
It would be nice if you could have more then 1 shortcut on the main menu - you know, the screen that on a DSi has "MicroSD Card" and on a Lite or Phat has "Slot-2 card" as well. I usually keep MoonShell2 as the shortcut, and it would be nice if I could have other shortcuts there as well, such as me DS Games, DS Homebrew and DS Emulators folders.

Battery Life...
by Fukaridao » Sat Apr 03, 2010 12:05 pm

1) is their a way where AKAIO can detect info from the DS BIOS about the remaining battery life?
Eg. Instead of Green for battery, show approximate percentages like 80%.
Something like 10% or 25% estimations would be fine.
e.g. 80% battery- 75 %battery
