GBA Saving issue

I'm want to play some GBA games on my NDSL, so i got ezflash V.

However saving dose not work how i would imagine it.

I fire a GBA rom (Golden Sun) play, save , power off, but when i start it again no progress is saved.

I updated to 1.9.0 and by default system don't ask anything.

How should i set it up?

Ok...

I beginning to doubt that i understand how all this works.

So now that i change settings so it won't do anything automatically and ask first I do not backup and i do not load anything and it behaves like i intended it to.

So wth does it do when it ask "to back up..." (no new files are created) and does it do when "load fat0: ..." (which erase my save) ?
